Really appreciate your thoughtful approach to this instead of making an instant judgment. Not enough of that IMO. And the chopping demo opened my eyes to a different approach so thanks for that. Looking forward to your next look at the Move.

Yessirrrr! Dope! I have mine for 4 days now and I’m lovin’ it. Workflow is fast and straightforward and there are some dope features like the 16pitch, per pad manipulation, lazy chop multiple tracks merged into a pad. I hope I’m still enthusiastic after 2+ months tho 😂

Wow the transpose per step was a pleasant surprise

Great video! I haven’t seen anyone demonstrate step automation like this before—very cool!
Tip: You can set a sample’s end point using Shift + Decay (see section 15.7.1 of the manual).

Got my Move last week, and the first thing I did also, was chop 😂 I'm really loving it Marlow, and there's already some cool hacks out there as far as chopping (Damon Flores), but I'm loving it. Looking forward to seeing more content on this from you 🙏🏾✊🏾💚

The most important reviewer of the Ableton Move in my opinion!

I think a truncate option would be nice, thanks for breaking down your process! Love the insight

Thanks for sharing the sample start per step technique. I dunno why that didn't occur to me but it really makes a single drum rack so much more flexible.

One of my favorite groove boxes I've used and I've used em all. Wasn't expecting much when I first got it, but it's been amazing. I'd explore the 16 pitch feature, essentially giving you 64 chromatic sample tracks if you want.

Oh snap. Thanks for the Sample Start time tip using the Step Sequencer. This was news to me 👊🏼🎚️💗and something i will use constantly.

Think how fast you can go from the hands on ideas on the Move to arrangement view in Live... nothing else comes close to this flow now. Amazing job by Ableton with this.

Two important simple things for me missing on Move: Sidechain and note probability. Circuit Tracks has this and for me is very important, specially the note probability.

other comments have said the endpoint is not hold but press shift when editing samples, and to the right of the “hold” knob is a “length” knob. THAT is your end point. Not hold. Because hold is time dependent, but length is not. So if you use hold to truncate a sample, you’ll hear past it, if you play @ a higher pitch (16 pitch).

I never thought of chopping samples by adjusting the start point! It's also fun not only to use a parameter lock style but to automate the start point knob while playing and capture it 🎛

I keep seeing a lot of videos of people saying there’s no end point control and you have to use hold - if you hit shift + decay knob it allows you to set the length of the sample! Awesome video keen to see more 🎉🎉🎉

Can you edit all the clips like in the daw and can assign fx to each one. I also have an MPCone question. I have to pads going off at the same time do you know how to fix that?
