The BIGGEST Government Pay Raise in 20 years in 2023

We are looking at the biggest pay increase for federal government employees and miltary members in 2023. The problem is that inflation will far exceed the pay increase we will see in our checks. In this video, I discuss possibilities for how large the pay raise could end up being. Also, how it would impact different GS grades. Do you feel that this pay raise is enough? The gap was wide enough to convince me the private sector was the path to follow. The IT field is so wide, as well as many other sectors that were difficult to fill over the years, that as soon as I reclaimed my mil/gs retirement, I accepted an offer that almost doubled my restricted salary in government. Advancement in government isn't as viable as many think, with select few who are pretty much groomed to move up, while the rest are 'on their own'. Well, seeing the personnel shortage recently, as well as the opportunities for better pay, challenges and advancement, can you blame folks for taking those more open career paths? Those who stay or stuck in the gov positions are finding increased work, reduced resources and an increased challenge to progress/advance as 'money is tight'.

What happened to the use of last FY Qtr CPI avg rounded down minus 1% that was used last year. We still lost inflation-wise, but we lost less.

Could you talk about different agency pay bands outside of the GS system, some include but are not limited:
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Farm Credit Administration, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Federal Housing Finance Agency?

Cost of insurance going up offsets this as well when it comes to increase what ends up in the pocket.

What if you sign a job offer already for the original 2022 pay grade? Will the rates change or does it stay the same?

How come the wg payscale pay is garbage. Why is the gs pay scale being that it pays a higher rate then the wg pay scale the only employes that get locality pay when we all live in the same areas and shop at the same places. And why 10 steps in the gs pay scale and only 5 steps for wg pay scale . You can have all the engineers you want, but if you don't have someone physically doing the work, then nothing gets done .

Why is it nobody talks about the WG pay scale? It’s only the GS scale you people talk about. You can’t even google WG scale. When you do it only comes up with the GS scale. Upsetting and frustrating!!!
