Longwei bench power supply fail

This is a new bench power supply out of the box and why I returned it . It has the problem that the current limit does not stop a surge of current from flowing and damaging components for my use with electronic circuits it’s not suitable . I suspect that the current limiting is done before the final output caps . This allows the caps to discharge with no current limit if one happens to do something silly like short a power rail with a voltage probe .
