Avoid this tourist TRAP in London

My son and I just got back from 8 wonderful days in London, and thanks to your excellent videos, we are now seasoned Tube riders, explorers, and we made it a point to avoid Leicester Square at all costs. We were successful!

When my wife and I were in London, my mother in law asked my wife if we had gone to the Hard Rock yet. My wife responded "Um, no. ... I don't think we're going to be able to make it there". She wanted to say "Why would we want to?".

We only went to Leicester Square to visit the Lego Store and get the little London Exclusive figure. Wife is huge into Lego.

I followed your instructions when I went to London in May. We only walked through Leicester Square once when it was the fastest way to our destination. Boy did I quickly realize why you tell everyone to steer clear. Terrible place.

You should make a video of the actual town of Leicester, it’s an amazing place I visited friends there

Leicester Square is functional as a reference point on a map. That’s about it. When you have Covent Garden, Seven Dials and Kingly Court all in walking distance from the square, to settle for eating there is appalling.

We’re coming to London (from Australia) this Christmas. Staying at a hotel on Leicester Square because it’s going to be easy for 2 newbies to find their way around (next time we’ll be more adventurous) . Are there any decent places to eat nearby that aren’t fast food?

That's true, but you're forgetting the most important thing... McDonald's is still the cheapest meal you're ever going to find in London... 😉

I already know that Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, & even Oxford Street are very crowded so I don't plan to spend much time in those places here! I'll focus on the non tourists areas instead!
