I wonder why she doesn’t have a little pond or some water source to swim or soak in already? Seems like having it would make it easier for the snake to soak and shed without human interference

they need to boost that humidity...maybe a flowing mini waterfall or something to splash particles into the air

“We are gonna give her a nice warm bath. Just check the temperature before we put her in.”

“Yep 28.”

The last bit by the director kinda sent it home for me, y’know? It’s been over a decade since Steve Irwin died, but the cultural impact of that beautiful madcap has stuck around. Folks are infinitely more respectful of reptiles due to the work he, his family, and his team did and the work his family and team continue to do.
I daresay he’s made a permanent cultural change in how a lot of nations, especially Anglosphere/Anglophone nations, view reptiles and other stereotypically “monstrous” animals.

I would understand why the humidity is low if her enclosure was outside but she lives indoors in a controlled environment so why isn’t the humidity correct?

Poor baby girl. She was so patient. She’s gorgeous ❤️

Maybe try a humidity box? A big rubbermate container with moss over a heated area?
It always helps my snakes she'd in the winter, I live in the eastern part of the US so we have brutal winter's and the heat is non stop

My question is, why doesn't this snake have a water source large enough to fully soak in at all times? That's basic large snake care...

Didn't see any type of water inside the enclosure with Cleo. I'm not a zoologist but figured there should be some type of water source inside.Glad to see they helped her and that there are people who care about animals.

Does anyone else freaked out when Kelsey started talking? I remember her from the Crocodile Diaries, my childhood just flashed before my eyes 😂😂

Humid box guys!!! If you need to, build it up against the front wall so people can see into it. Fill it with sphagnum moss and voila. You're good to go.
I think that would help you not have to go through this too often...

This isn't uncommon. To prevent it keep the humidity levels up. Do this by spraying it down or having a pond or waterfall, something like that. Not sure why they didn't up the humidity when they knew it was dry.

I feel like a lot of animal stress could have been avoided if they provided her with a humid hide or soaking pool. Clearly the enclosure was meant for her to always be viewable to the public, not with her shedding needs as a priority

This is ridiculous they should keep the humidity higher and should have it's on water source. And you can see in the video some spots they literally are scraping her healthy skin off. Look how she keeps trying to get out of that bath if they took care of it correctly and gave it a little more time it would've shedded just fine.

A few drops of baby oil in the warm bathwater can also help soothe and ease the old shed off~
