My experience is very limited but Cattleya walkeriana has the best fragrance I experienced so far: complex rose, spice, vanilla, wood... SO GOOD!
I also really like Aerangis fastuosa at night for honeysuckle and jasmin or Leptotes bicolor in the very early morning for vanilla, cream and honey.

Don’t get many fragrant plants here I’ve got one but the bulbs multiply every year yellow with brown spots on it smells spicy which is quite nice but it’s the only one I’ve seen. You describe scents so beautifully that I dare say you would be great at creating perfumes, being able to indentify the layers 😅 I love it when the perfume of a flower permeates the air during the day but my most fantastic experience, which I always long for, is the the night scent that, when you are sitting in a room at dusk, comes across the room and knocks you on the shoulder, like an invisible hand 😍😍😘😘

I find it interesting how people perceive fragrance profiles. I think if someone says x orchid smells like x, we are pre-conditioned for it to smell of x. But sometimes our noses just aren't going to smell it that way. Twinkles are generally said to smell of sweet vanilla and that was why I bought one. Then it bloomed and rather than sweet vanilla, I smelled sour vinegar. No matter how many times people tell me it is a sweet smell, I do not smell sweet. Or Ctt Sagarik Wax (turns out mine did produce two new growths and is currently in spike) which smells of old roses and cinnamon to me yet you smell something completely different, wine if I recall correctly. I've actually heard people say anosmum doesn't smell like raspberries to them and that one I can't figure out because it is rather universally agreed that it smells of raspberries.

Most cattleya have a decent scent except perciviliana, funky musty old dish rags. Some dendrobium, such as my delacourii has a light chemical scent.
Bulbophyllum, well some down right stink! And I mean grandpa in the bathroom stench, others dead fish, other have no scent or even a few smell nice... Weird stuff!

Coincidence with today's video Nina.Lured by Ninja Orchids Aphyllum curtain video, I collected some aphyllums from deshi growers.Yesterday only I was able to procure an imported Aphyllum Shining Pink (costly and tagged) orchid which is a ditto of the one I am seeing in your videos. Time will tell which one would stand out.Phalaenopsis violacea is also familiar from your Bloom Dedication Episode 79 as you have dedicated this fragrant beautiful orchid flower to my granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth Jossy.Thank you so much Nina for familiarising a wide array of exquisite scented orchids to orchid hobbyists.

90 % of the orchids I have, have a scent and having a acute sense of smell I can even smell my Pinokkio. Most have fruity/floral smell but I have a few that have a smell I can't write down here 😁 as it would offend people. a lot depends on the amount of light and heat they get and if you're close or not. For instance my Anselia smells chemical when you smell the flower directly but when you give it time to fill the room it turns sweet. Some even start smelling stronger after watering. some (my Zygo or Nelly Isler) are so strong it's headache inducing
