They will say in a survey, but they will not move in reality

"They want to return" is so much different from "they are returning".

It's all nonsense. All NRI's will say they want to return to India during retirement years, but they will realise once they come to India and start living here that the present day India is not the India in their memories. It's impossible for them to adjust. They will eventually go back to West.

Indian living standards have massively improved in the last two decades. There’s a Porsche dealership just 1 Kilometre from where I live, and I’m not living in Mumbai or Bangalore with absurd property rates. The day india manage to tackle it’s waste management and infrastructure quality issues we’ll be just as good as the developed nations.

Now a days in India standard and quality of life is also improving . If you don’t earn in abroad and want to live with savings and pension, living in India is cheaper .

I'm also a senior citizen settled in India. I'm a US citizen, but home is home, though I do miss United States of America, it's clean, very orderly traffic and food is also good. Clean air is what I'm missing. Quiet neighborhood, have tons of reasons to praise America, but alas... Home is home though I have nobody here.

We NRI has 10 trillion dollars. 1. Make justice system modern and fast. 2. Make incentive like NRI towns with the same facility as west 3. Create a programme for investment in critical STEM programme, Universities and Start ups with guaranteed minimum security- like preservation of capital.

What she says is right in a way.
I have my friends in their mid 30's and all of the guys want to come back as their parents are getting old they own houses but their better halves do not want to..

For them it's better abroad without relatives and in laws...

I also want to return to my village and do farming and just relax, but then once I wake up in the morning I keep going to office everyday.
