Why is it that VS keeps getting increasingly poor in performance with every version? I only use it for debugging, and an old version at that because every new version gets progressively worse.

Ironic case in point about Microsoft not having the best track record naming things (8:50): I got all the way to 18:28 when a questioner asked about 'community edition', getting increasingly baffled as they enthused over 'new features' I could have sworn were there for ages, before I realised they were not talking about Visual Studio Code!

The brackets surrounding feature is shown working for C#, but when I'm in C++ and press { whilst some text is selected it introduces a new block scope instead, even if the selected text is only a subselection of a line i.e. I've selected a variable, it still produces a block scope, instead of only doing that when entire line(s) have been selected.
