I'm a cabin cleaner and we have a bad problem with maintenance getting our tips every check out. Thank you for this video after watching I realized they have no guidelines on tips where I work and I plan to have this changed.

We have the same problem here at The Fairchild Inn. It's a den of thieves! Your video is so valuable. I need to show it to my boss, but I don't think she will use it as I'm just a housekeeper. Just a peasant that thinks he's a pheasant.

As a Housekeeping Supervisor we follow procedures when it comes to tips. Our procedure is that any tips whether it is given to the Butlers or the Room attendant they should submit it to the Supervisor then as a Sup I write the name of the guest, the room number, the date and the names of the attendants or butlers who serviced the room. Then, at the end of the month I split the tips by the numbers of days they worked. When it comes to the Lost Property we logged them in the Lost Property log book with the details and keep them for 3 months.

Who should get the tips in a checkout room? The room Attendant who cleaned it last or the room Attendant who is going to clean the checkout? My resort is having this problem. It's very sad, we are the hardest workers yet the least paid and everyone is desperate to steal our tips: valet, front desk, in room dining, housemen, etc.
