Lyrics

I think we’re done here. no conversation. just telepathic communication.
while you’re locked beneath your bones, the sky awaits.
you’re a thing with feathers now. elevate.
In the long dark night of eternal life, you’ve always been a light.
I think you’re done here. they’ve been mistaken.
they pored over the papers trying to solve your equation.
but the truth was not in math, it was in faith.
the divine does not divide, she permeates.
In the long dark night of eternal life shine on.
you’ve always been a light.
but I think you’re done here.
standing ovation.

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

The end of an era boys. The intro with Keith walking away from the other 4 is oddly fitting after the announcement today.

This song is proof that music can be interpreted different ways. Me and my wife just had twins born premature and this song hits completely different now. I feel like it was written for me and my wife. RIP Amy and Jay

Absolutely gut wrenching song. This is about Keith and Jordan’s sister who passed away a few years ago. We cutting onions today fam

Due to the context of this song and the overall bomb dropping nature of the chorus, this song is their masterpiece in my opinion. I get chills every time I hear it.

I love how Keith sings the last line and Jordan plays the last riff.

Let’s hope these boys make amends with each other. Best band out there. Restored my faith in heavy music with radical. I’ve been feeling this musical loss hard. I hope they figure it out. I love you guys and have ever since last night in town with OG cover. Brothers are tough. Be one.

ETID has shown they endure without having to set trends. They experiment without becoming another band. They progress without losing sight of what they are good at. This song is not a departure from what they do, it's merely an extension. Long live ETID.

Keith walks away and the band plays on - it's like this video predicted how it would all end. RIP ETID.

Every Time I Die is the greatest rock and roll band of our generation

Literally the only band i'm aware of that no one has ever shit on at some point. Even when they make as rare a departure as this, fans just embrace it and cherish it. Cannot lose with this band.

Ugh. The tears. Utter perfection. Thank you Keith and Jordan for baring your souls to us that we too might find catharsis in our own battles with this beautiful, compelling work of art. I feel as if I could write a novel explaining how moved I am by this song and yet at the same time I feel totally lost for words.

20 years of slammin and jammin this band literally never fails to amaze me. Been listening to them since I was a young buck and always look forward too seeing and hearing new music by them! ETID always sticks to there roots!

How do they write a song that doesn’t sound like ETID but does still sound like ETID. SO GOOD

The fact that you guys merge Andy Hull’s voice so perfectly into your sound is just mind blowing. He’s my all time favorite and this makes me love you guys all that much more!
