I was a Navy SEAL for 30 years. About 20 years ago My platoon was doing cold weather training in single digit weather in Shenandoah. We were patrolling in to observe a target and because we had to bring in a bunch of gear for the recon we left my sleeping bag back and tent back in camp to make space for other equipment figuring we would hot rack and take turns watching the target. Everything went great the other guys I was with started setting up a Mission Support Site up the hill and I took first watch setting up an OP closer to the target. In the middle of the watch the training staff called us and said just bivwack for the night that training was cancelled for the night. That left me we no sleeping bag and no tent for the night because we were no longer rotating out watch. Needless to say I sat down on a big outcropping of rock sitting Indian style with arms crossed and hood over my head trying to stay warm. That’s when I fell asleep. At some point in the night i found myself floating out of my body. At first was confusion of what I was looking at. I’m looking down at my body sitting on the granite rock outcropping and I became hyper aware of everything around me. I mean I can see or since life all around me. Worms and bugs in the ground small animals in the dens in trees even the trees seemed to imitate life different from the animals but I could tell it had life. As I floated up I could see where the guys with me set up their tents, there packs and weapons at their heads, with them sleeping in their sleeping bags bundled up with their black beanies on their head. You have to realize I never saw them set up their tents as I had first watch. Then I looked over and saw the Target building which was a cabin. We never saw the back of the target as we approached but I could clearly see from above a white military truck and a quad next to it. It’s hard to explain other than I felt like I had senses I never knew I had and like I was connected in someway to all the life around me, aware of it. I continued to float upward while looking down when I felt something grip my wrists on both sides and something like a voice saying don’t worry I got you now. As I looked up I saw this human like figure with no face made of light and instant recognition of Jesus popped into my head. Other countless figures surrounded him and as my consciousness focused on them as they approached it was like I knew them all my life. I even got the sense many were related to me somehow from the past but their was an overwhelming sense of familiarity and the LOVE i felt from him and those around me was so overwhelming. I remember thinking I never want to apart from this feeling and the voice which I attributed to Jesus said you can come now if you want to and in a moment I felt yes lets go, no cares and all I want is this, , , then as we started to go my mind wandered to my wife and kids and I thought what about them I couldn’t leave them behind. In that moment my conciousness snapped instantly back in my body and I woke up to the most excruciating pain like every bone in my body was being bent to the point of snapping and skin on fire. I was covered in snow and was hypothermic for sure. The experience was like you said more real and i felt like being in my body was a filtered reality. Duller and less real somehow. At the time I was as far from God as you could get. I was in my fleshly prime and not remotely interested in knowing God at the time this happened. It was literally out of nowhere. But it absolutely happened. I stood up and decided if I don’t start walking around and warm up I’m going to freeze to death. I decided to walk up the hill and find my guys. I walked up on their camp and everything was laid out just as I saw. I walked up and Sean and Chris were still facing the same direction as I saw gear and everything. It was pretty close to morning so we decided to break camp and head back down to base camp via the main road since training was off. We started to walk down to the target cabin to get to the road and I remembered I saw a truck and ATV on the backside of the target and As I approached the backside corner of the building I though. “If i see a truck and atv I’m going to freak out. I passed the corner of thee building and both the truck and atv were there oriented exactly as I saw from overhead. Needless to say the experienced rocked me hard enough I told my wife I wanted to start going to church. This was 10years into my marriage and first time I even mentioned the word church. I told her about my experience and she agreed to go. I have no doubt the spiritual realm is real. Jesus is the source of all light, life and love. No doubt at all.

I believe that they were given the taste of the glory of God. When I was 11 my dad died in a car accident. Sometime after that I went to a nearby park in search of a hiding place from my fears and sorrows. I found what I call Island in a section of a forest. I remember crawling in the center of it and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen or experienced. I felt incredible contentment and I remember I wanted to stay there forever. It was so beautiful and safe and filled with love. After what it felt like forever I left and went home. I went back several times to that spot but I couldn't find the island anymore. Then in my early twenties I gave my life to Christ! 🙌 I believe that God sat with me in this hiding place when I was young and so I experienced His glory. All those stories of NDE remind me of that experience I had as a 11/12 year girl. I love how your guest is speaking of other people in the Bible that had similar experiences. I've never had an NDE (thank God) and I rarely dream, but when I first came to Christ I had a sleep paralysis dream I'll never forget. The day after I came to Christ I was on cloud 9 all day, no bad vibes at all - but that night, I dreamt I was in a black space with an old, wrinkled face hanging above my shoulder behind me. I tried to turn around to punch the face but then I realized I couldn't move. I fought it for a couple seconds to no avail, then I called the name of Jesus Christ. I instantly woke up, myself and the bed completely soaked in sweat, my heart racing, but I kept calling for Jesus in my mind and I just drifted back to sleep.

My grandmother had a NDE in her 50s. She went to heaven, saw her family, described heaven as a place more real to her than here. She said she saw colors she’d never seen before. Her grandmother told her it was not her time yet and she was revived at the hospital. In her 90’s she was the worst nursing home patient because she wasn’t depressed, but she just wanted to go back to heaven. When she passed during COVID, the few of us that were saddened she was gone, we were encouraged by her testimony. She was so excited about heaven that we were excited for her. A now middle aged man she discipled with the the Bible Study she used to lead officiated the funeral. I’ll never forget her and her story.

My mother died when I was two. I had a reoccurring dream about 13 times, where I would see her hovering over a sea of gold with thousands behind her. She would smile at me and look off to her right, where my gaze would follow hers, and I saw a little boy in a darker clouded corner kicking a can. We would both laugh and I would wake up having wet the bed. I was never ashamed that I wet the bed because I was so happy, and at peace, and knew that boy was me, and that this life is only temporary. We are all kicking the can for a while.

As a young Christian one night I opened my eyes but absolutely could NOT move. As I looked around the room I saw a dark face glaring through the clerestory windows of the bedroom from outside. I knew that these bottom ledge or frame of these windows was as high as I could reach, barely, so I knew that the face of the person had to be 10 feet or more off the ground. I started praying the the name of Jesus and repeated his name several times till the face disappeared and I fell back to sleep (I guess I was never awake). I thought this dream was so real that the next morning I went outside and found NO foot prints, not ladder marks. It had rained the night before so the ground was damp and should have had marks. My wife heard me whispering and could make out that I was praying so she joined the prayer as well.

Jesus Christ has completely changed my life. Since accepting him as my lord and savior, everything changed for the better. I found the woman I was praying for, I don't have financial struggles anymore, I've never been this strong in the gym before, he freed me from toxic people around me. I owe him everything!
