Stupid AF... I want to know this information BEFORE accepting a ride to pick up a passenger that’s 21 minutes away just to take them on a $3 trip.

BS - this drivers doesn’t get how he’s being used. There is literally NO contractor job on the planet, where the destination is not revealed to the contractor ahead of time. These ride share companies are abusing the drivers in a way no company should. EVER.

It’d be nicer to see that destination before u accept it bc it may be an area u don’t wanna go into...safety reasons etc

biggest issue is pick up miles and times....travel 15 miles to go 1 mile....wish I can see where a long pickup ride is going...

I take umbrage at his wording. You're not seeing the passenger's destination "ahead of time". You're already there. You've already driven there and tapped to arrive. Wasted time & money. Now, what would be much more appreciated from a business standpoint, is to see the destination before we accept the ride. That is the proper time. It's not fair to the passenger for someone to come all the way there and arrive and then suddenly cancel and take off. That's so not cool. Especially if they're going to the airport or work, and need to be there in a certain time and now have to wait for another driver. If you're not going to take someone, you should be rejecting or calling them immediately and letting them know so they can cancel immediately & not accrue a cancelation fee and you haven't got a ding on your Acceptance Rate or already made the drive. I think Lyft needs to get off its butt and actually allow the drivers to see the destination before we accept the ride. That is the time to pass it to someone else and to not have the passenger wait as long.

The problem is, you should be able to see where the destination the driver needs to go to prior to excepting the job. That in itself will cut down on cancellations make it easier for the driver seat determine whether or not it’s in a safe area and it is not somewhere you want to drive in that city. So Lyft if you’re listening try doing that offering that to your drivers got on on your cancellation

5 minutes is a more than reasonable waiting period. If you’re getting push notifications and know I’m 10 minutes out, it’s your responsibility if you miss your ride.

This makes no sense. Go to pick them up and then cancel, we wanna see before we arrive duh

Why can't I find out before I even start to travel to that passenger. I would like to know ahead of time where that passenger is going. I am tired of traveling 15-20 minutes for just a two minute drive. A waste of time and money for me...

Company man, thanks for not answering the question I had. Also, there’s no need to keep your acceptance rate above 90% when they pay us so little.

Cancelling the ride after arrival at the pickup location would increase your cancelation rate which would lead to deactivation even if Lyft never admits it to be the reason for deactivation. Also driving to the pickup location and finding out the destination of the passenger only after arrival is a waste of time, gas, mileage, energy and so on. Drivers should never be forced to gamble with their resources while Lyft has very little to lose. Being an independent contractor implies more freedom in accepting and denying requests which could not be without full information about the ride in advance. I assume that you know that already.

Why "pinch to arrive" when all you have to do is tap the icon in the lower left corner (with the 3 lines) you get the same result, but much faster

dude, if you click the button that says you are here, after which it shows you the destination... you no longer have the ability to cancel the ride. It WILL charge the rider a fare.

I just started working for Lyft after working for Uber. The biggest problem for me here is that after I push “Pick Up Ride” it’s not showing me the rider’s destination’s address? Hello? Where are we going? Yes, I can zoom out on the map to see the destination, but why not give me the exact address of the destination so I would know exactly the name of the street where I’m going?

My reference to acceptance rate is based on how I personally justify cancelling certain rides

Cancellation rate is something to be aware of in terms of facing deactivation

If the passenger on either Lyft or uber is not at the pick up point, you must wait. When the timer runs out it's time to leave.

Okay now, how do you see the destination before picking up the passenger? Like he said, about a block or so before arriving, he taps arrive and pick up prior to pick up, sees where the passenger is going then cancels if it's not worth the trip.

When you reach gold status they show you in advance.
