My Yaesu FT-65R does everything, I use it in my truck with a magnetic antenna and at home with a Motorola mic on my homemade YAGI, oh yeah I also use it as an HT. By the way I like the PTT button just the way it is.

I have the FT-25R and like it very much. My wife and I use them when we are RVing, whether keeping in touch at the campground, trail, or through the repeater when one of use runs into town for supplies. It comes in very handy for clear audio when backing into an epic boondocking site next to the lake. 73, KU9L & KB9YYI.

Picked up a FT 65 at the Des Moines Radio Amateurs Association's Hamfest on 4/23/22, the radio was a birthday present to myself. I LOVE this radio, it's easy to program and it's fun to use.

Great Video.. My Yaesu 65R says it was made in Japan.. It is easy to program by the front panel too. I also have a Yaesu 4XR and it's great too. Can't beat the price for either.. $89.95 at Ham Radio Outlet.

BTW the FT-4X has normal LCD screen (Like old calculators) and the FT-65 Has the Dot Matrix LCD :) ***I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before I have not looked into the comment section***

Just one thing i find disappointing is that i can not program a single memory channel for 2 band sat work.

I'm currently studying to take my tech and general tests as soon as testing opens up again. I've been eyeballing the FT70DR. I'm kind of under the impression that all these Yaesus are good to go.

Do you know why Yaesu changed the gender of their HT sockets? The VX-5R is different than the FT-65R.

My FT-4XR does not have an FCC ID printed on the chassis. It was sold to me by a Chinese vendor. I am wondering if it is legal to use in the US. Do you have any information on this?

I had the FT -65. I also have the GT3. The modulation of the FT-65 was unfortunately rated poorly by people I asked. They didn't know which device I was using beforehand. The Modulation with the GT3 was much better
