Thanks for the nice comments. Very much appreciated. FYI: Our gear is fine and so are our methods. We do real world testing. Times are always much slower in the real world. We believe that the numbers the cars mags get are unrealistic for the average Joe. Please stay tuned for our RAV4 video tomorrow when we put this belief to the test.

that's exactly what they were planning to do from the beginning. the Model S was made to help establish their brand name better, as well as showcase the company's ability to make quality autos.

IIRC, it's a single speed reduction gearbox (similar to the old Tesla Roadster & Nissan Leaf). So, yeah, no shifting or anything... just smooth, continuous power delivery.

Is it faster than an internal combustion car? ....Uhh it's faster than a LOT of internal combustion cars lmao

what happened to 0-60 in 4.2? you cant blame the altitude for this one, now can you? if anything, it should be even quicker because of less air resistance

I'm 6'1 and got to sit in one yesterday. The front seats had more than enough room for someone my size.

Nice to see a actual review of an electric car from you guys. I'd given you up for lost when I watched the episode where he drove up with less then half a charge, "Oh my I can't get home, can we find a charging station." Bla bla, bla, looks like you get a second chance. I also watched your Rav4 EV video, and a few others, it's nice to see you guys treating them like cars.

Why would sea level matter with electric?
The acceleration would be the same no matter what. Gas is affected by altitude because lack of oxygen means less combustion.

Great review Roman! I absolutely love this car. I walked past a dealership in my mall yesterday, they had the 85 model in black, just as the one you tested.

A much better review (so to speaks) than the one he did when comparing it with the Audi S8. That was basically on speed and I wasn't too shocked that the Audi won even at a mile high above sea level. Tesla Model S is impressive that it's an electric car - not a drop of gas. That still boggles my mind. It definitely a game changer and I can bet that every auto manufacturer will start investing money to make their own - not hybrid, fully electric.

I would recommend you watch the Megafactories episode on Tesla; they go over the business plan from the Roadster to the Model S and forward. This sort of attainable car is part of that plan, although it looks like for now they have focused on their SUV which also looks badass. Interested to see how they progress - the company is still so young!

We can't all drive like the Stig, even if we think we do in our heads. Nobody likes to hear their car is slower than what they think. C&D uses professional drivers, on a track, and they flog the hell out of the cars to get them to the quickest time possible. Keep doing what you're doing guys.

Your are right. Probably the i8 is the better sports car (because it was planed to be one in contrast to Model S) with it's sporty engine-sound and a possible better road handling. But then you have all this complicated construction that makes the car so expensive. The combustion-engine, the electric drive and the carbon fiber. It's too much. The straightforwardness of the construction of the Model S is what's so special about this car. You can feel it when driving and that's what's so amazing.

There's going to be, or I think that there's already a supercharger in Colorado. It would certainly be something to try out and show to us in the full review.

Really? If two cars have the same hp, and one has 300 foot lbs of torque, while the other has 200 foot lbs of torque, won`t the car with the most torque accelerate the fastest?

Are you serious? 100.000 is very affordable considering what you get here.
