Hi everyone,
This low-key, ‘just the facts ma’am ‘, 14 minute video is chock full of tips, suggestions and ideas to help you with your own resining, including information that took me watching lots of videos to understand and put into practice. I wish I had this video 6 months ago!!!! And you know what, It IS easy.

VALUABLE VIDEOs and Product LINKS:

As you all know I’ve been making a lot of coasters lately so I decided to just make a very impromptu resining video to show you how I go through the process of resining my tiles for coasters. My first tile set of resining I did was in January this year ‘22 and primarily because a woman asked if I sell my tiles, “well, yes of course,” I said, so I had to learn how to resin quickly. No joke!!!! I was quite nervous then and now wonder why!
I use the KS Resin liquid stone epoxy and find it works great, but the two people I link below use different resin.

And yes, resins are different. I tried resining my “Seasons” tiles with my 1st resin purchased over year ago, before paint pouring even, and it was thin, didn’t coat properly, pulled from the edges, you name it, and when I started sanding them to begin fixing them, I ruined them!!!😢 😥😭

In the video i mention the two folks who helped me most in resining. Check out their videos if you like.

I hope you find this video succinct and helpful. Please subscribe and share and leavrccomments. Intol next time, go with the flow…

I cheered when you mentioned Tilly Douglas ! She has been so great at finding ways round the lack of Floetrol and testing ways to do things in the UK. She’s just like you, very helpful with lots of tips. I’m going to have another try at resining now I’ve watched you. Could you tell me the make of resin you use please? It looks much runnier, but I guess it’s the temperature and the little warm bath idea makes a difference. Thank you, Louise, for all your lovely tips and tutorials. You really are wonderful! 👏👏👏

You inspired me to try coasters. They were beautiful with your bloom 401 video. Unfortunately, I didn’t do well with resin. I sanded and redid them, sanded, and redid again. Now I think it might be the resin, I bought the wrong resin apparently.

Louise, I went searching for videos you made years ago, and I want to tell you how much I appreciate your ability to teach this artform. I am so interested in your processes and how to go about doing such beautiful artistry! You keep my attention, and I am learning so many things that I can incorporate into my own artwork...I look forward to any and all new videos you make no matter how old or new they are...😉☺🤩 Thanks so much!!!

Hi Louise. Your tile coasters are beautiful. Does the KS Resin provide a heat protective barrier or will a hot cup cause an indentation? Thank you. Your work is wonderful.

You have inspired me to try my hand at coasters. I paint poured over ceramic tiles. Let dry 2 to 3 days. Then used counter top resin and had issues. My error because I have resined previously and did not read the directions. But during the process I noticed that the paint and resin did not adhere properly to the ceramic tile. Have you noticed this happening? And any idea what caused this?

I almost ready to try to resin some tiles. I came back to watch this because I thought you mentioned in one of your videos how long the paint should cure before applying resin. I did not hear anything in this video - maybe it was in another one. How long do you usually wait for tiles and is it longer for larger items like the lazy susans - I'm only up to tiles so far LOL

Hi! Great video. What type of respirator do you use. Is there a name brand? Amazon?

Do you have any videos that talk about what to do if you find a spot you missed or other corrective measures such as dust getting in?

Hi. I resin my first month as a newbie and I got craider. I didn't know about the alcohol 91%. And it's tacky. I watched how some have sanded and applied. Any other suggestions. I didn't put it into water to warm it up. Such a major failure
