We have a sailboat and one thing we haven't done yet, is to take her out for a test sail. In this episode we go out on the water for a first test sail.
As with a new sailboat there is a lot of things to test, but on major thing for us was the keel we cast ourselves a few months ago.

We are Thomas and Petra and late August 2020 we left Sweden to start our first sailing adventure. We sailed for a year to the Caribbean and back again. October 2023 we bought a new sailboat, a Wasa 530 that is need of some renovation.

On our channel you will be able to follow our process - from buying a sailboat that has been standing for 10+ years and turning her into a perfect blue water cruiser!
Our plan going forward is to post a new video bi-weekly on Saturdays.

Our first boat Anne-Mon I was also a renovations project. On our website we have a lot of blog posts about the renovations of Anne-Mon I and also more of our first sailing adventure:

Thrilling to watch. Looks steady and tracks nice. The motor sounds great. All your incredible keel work (amazing that you completed it and it came out so well) has been a success. Converted from an abandoned relic to a formidable sailing tool once again. Great work. I really enjoy seeing the boat sail.

This boat has a lot of sailing potentials..Agreed the rigging needs some fine tuning ..In the end she will perform marvelously...Ballast ratio seems to be on target..

Think how much faster she'll go without the brake!

Looks like a great sailing boat! On Nautor Swans of similar era, the running back stays are attached at the rear turning blocks allowing for the boom to move freely. Is there an attachment point possibility farther aft? Seems safer to move this closer to the cockpit for double handed sailing.

I like the rod rigging, is the baby forestay a necessity or is it just for more sail options
