I noticed that you put the ski on the outside of the trailer wall, all campers rot out because water gets behind the ski causes rot. I had to replace our floor and redesigned the ski to fit in behind the wall and the new floor so water can’t get behind the ski.

We had to do this on our 2014 Reflection. Actually one Ski was replaced three times. The last time the factory said the roller was in the wrong place and the Ski was not supposed to roll over the roller. They removed the slide and relocated the rollers and no more troubles over the next many years. It looks like your slide roller is on the outside of the slide which would contact the ski and break it over time. Very nice job on the repair! Thanks.

Thanks for the information! You taught me a valuable lesson with the caulk! Great job to you both!

Thanks for the detailed video! I did one ski a couple weeks ago and now I am going to do the other 3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't remember the name of the "butyl tape" I also had to replace the plastic block screwed to the inside of the trailer where the ski glides. Mine was torn up from using the slide with the ski missing. It chewed up the block quite a bit.

Thank you so much for this video. I just returned from a trip and had my ski fail in the driveway. I was devastated thinking what a major impossible project it would be to fix. Your video put me at ease that it is clearly doable and something I can handle. Thanks again!

Ive seen many videos of jacking up the slide but no one mentions about dissconnecting the slide out rails from the slide, there are little plastic buttons inside of the channels where the slide out arms ride on. These buttons keeps the rails centered inside of the channel allowing for smooth operating. By jacking up the slide without disconnecting you will damage these small alignment buttons and cause major issues in the future. Gotta disconnect the slide from the rails before jacking up.

Hi sir, I discovered water damage in our bedroom slide which is small, only has a dresser and a small linen closet/hanging closet in our 5th wheel. Someone suggested possibly check the slide skies due to the water damage is on the floor and not on the top shelf of the linen closet.

I obviously don’t own an rv but this literally just happened to by grandma and grandpa. They obviously need to know about Mr and Mrs Griffin.

I keep getting wetness on my rv slide floor corners. But it only happens if it rains none stop for i er 48 hours. Which is what is happening now. I need to know if these skis are working and keeping the water out? Thanks i will be doing this if it works. My slide actually has what looks like the ski but they cut it before it went inside the rv. Which doesnt make since. If they would of done it rifht i might not have an issue.

Are those slides steel or plastic and which would be better?
