The navigation!! thank you for explaining and also when I started my school made me start with 3d and I was frustrated, but starting again in 2d I feel more confident

Thank you *VERY, VERY MUCH.* These basic things really accelerated my learning curve tremendously! I basically started last week and now have already completed the simple floating shelf for my hi-fi components. With rounded, routed doors - once I went back to 2-D and getting the shape right before pulling it was an absolute breeze!!!
Most helpful concepts:
1. Mouse control - clicking and leaving the item.
2. Grabbing the edge or corner.
3. Using the press of scroll wheel to orbit.
4. Activating the hand tool whilst doing all other things.

Yesterday i took learning SketchUp into consideration for my concept art career, and i guess i was lucky finding this channel. Single handedly the best format for tutorial i've ever watched, congrats!

To group stuff was the best tip for me. I often made sticky things, that was not meant to be sticky. Pushed 'Undo' several times and started over. So I am going to pay more attention to grouping and two other things covered in other videos here: layers and components. Thank you for some great tutorials.

Really clear instructions and great voice to listen to. The thing I found most helpful which I haven't done whilst self teaching/tutorial surfing.... Was grouping things! I always ended up dragging walls around with furniture before and thus helps so much thanks! Also the 3 button mouse tricks! Before it always annoyed me that I had to go back to the side bar to select each different move tool but you helped me a lot! Thank-you!

Click-Release-Click cycle was the most important one for me. Helps with the Move Tool so much!

Great to get back to basics! I’ve heard so much more about Sketchup and tried it a few years ago, but it felt backwards to me since I’ve used a variety of CAD programs which I’m used to different habits. This makes so much more sense and I can see how I can move forward on this. Thanks!

I have tried to learn this forever using tons of videos. Finally a tutorial that works. This would have saved me hours and hours of frustration. Thank you very much.

Excellent video. I was a CAD instructor back in the 80's and 90's and thought I could learn SketchUp just by putting in the time. That was last year and I quickly became frustrated and abandoned using the software. I am just getting back to using SketchUp and found this video with so many great tips. Looking forward to a better experience this time around! Thanks

Starting in 2D and using the orbit tool in small increments were tremendously helpful. I wish I had found this video first so I did not have to work so hard to get rid of my bad habits. Thank you so much.

The navigation tip was the most helpful. I've been using Sketchup for 8 years and literally knew none of this- in evolutionary terms, today I went from knuckle-dragging to making stone points in about an hour of practice. Thanks very much for the tutorial.

Thank you, they’re clear, and I don’t find any of these advice redundant. Great for beginners!

The concise explanations really help a lot especially for newbies in Sketchup. I'm trying to learn something new this quarantine period and since a lot of people say Sketchup is the complete opposite of Adobe, I took on the challenge. This should be a good place to start my learning experience!
