I've been fsd for about 2 years...fsd 95% of all my drivings. It's really nice and works well.... That said, it's not ready for robotaxi just yet.... Issues include
1. Slowness when making turns AMD 4 way intersections
2. Irrational turns such as moving to right most lane when a left turn is coming up within. 5 miles.. This is awful in traffic as it has to eventually stop in middle of road until someone actually lets you go back to the left turn lane
3. Hard brake when pedestrians are present

One of the biggest things about autonomy is it makes the auto side of tesla part of the robotaxi vertical, where they dont have to sell cars anymore at all, just supply taxis for transportation as a service.

Hi Tesla bulls!
First off, i love this show and have been a long term Tesla owner, investor and Elon fan. HOWEVER, to maintain the credibility of your podcast, I feel strongly that you HAVE to bring in greater balance on the potential damage that Elon is doing to Tesla through his other activities outside the company. You say he is the company’s biggest asset…I increasingly believe he is also what’s holding back the stock price for investors. The conversations about Tesla with friends and family has changed substantially recently and it’s becoming harder and harder to justify buying a better vehicle when the perception is that it is managed by someone that can be ‘unhinged’ at times, and breaking laws in different countries through X. I am still a fan but am increasingly uncomfortable with Tesla making moves with Elon’s other companies for critical components e.g. Grok as it means that should investors choose to replace Elon in the future, Tesla is inextricably still tied to Elon in a complex and painful way that risks future value of the company. The level of control would be quite unprecedented. Please can I ask that you start to explore some of these risks alongside your current list of bulls and perhaps also bring in greater representation from Europe where the situation and perception is different than in North America.

I think the largest initial market for autonomous is going to be seniors. The days we had to take my dad's keys, my father in laws keys, was horrible. All their independence went out the window. It also changed my families' lives. Elderly people have many doctors' appointments, need to shop, need to go to the pharmacy, etc. Me, my wife or one of my driving age children were constantly on call. I have been praying that autonomous would be ready before the day comes when my kids want my keys.
Having a robot to cook, clean and do chores wont hurt in your later years either. A lot less expensive than the current assisted living facilities charge.

I have a lot of respect for Omar's perspective, but as someone who lives in the PHX area and has taken Waymo's to and from Skyharbor twice in the last week, I can attest the demand is high and jumped week over week. There were Waymo cars everywhere at Skyharbor last Sunday evening and there were even quite a few when I got there to fly out yesterday (Saturday) morning at 4:30am dropping people off curbside. Also, it's not just a dropoff. My wife and I had Waymo drop us off last Friday and pick us up last Sunday at the airport. I use Waymo a couple of times a week and won't use Uber at all when I'm in my home city. Why would I? It's the same price or cheaper than Uber Comfort and no tip, chit chat, terrible music, or driver talking on their phone the whole ride. I'm a Tesla bull, but I love taking Waymos!

FSD gets most of the job done but it will still crash without intervention. 12.3.6 is starting to make me feel extremely uncomfortable. I will need to see 12.5.+ in order to see the progression. The version I've been stuck on for the last several months does not give me hope for the near future

Can you please address the possibility of what happens to Tesla car sales, other Tesla industrys, if wars escalate, if there is a serious recession in the USA, if China invades Taiwan,

I’m totally with Highlander with automated taxi for kids.
Likely safer than dad, way safer then stranger on personal level, better than bus, bike, scooter.
So many parents have to work around school run, totally inflexible, stressful of delay, say flat tyre, traffic.
It’d be useful to have camera supervision.
I’d prefer some form of sharing.

Yes, after test driving a Tesla Model X with 12.5.1 last week at Tesla Seramonte in Daly City, Calif. This amazing ride convinced me to buy a used Model 3 with FSD. I plan to use this model 3 as a robotaxi. I feel that there will be very few used Tesla with FSD. Once 10-10 happens, the ablity to find a used Tesla with FSD will be tough. I am ready to do FSD. Yes I now have two Tesla Model 3 standard and one is a performance and one is a standard.

Regarding the last question, the FSD terms of service is specific that the FSD automated driving can't be used outside of the Tesla service, but drivers being present using FSD is not under that clause. The whole problem is that requires a driver, so it kind of negates all of the benefit of autonomous for ride hailing purposes.

There needs to be a Tesla tunnel at all major centers of businness to have the transport take passingers to a hub where passengers can select a robotaxi to their final destination. I hate picking up friends at the San Francisco Airport. So a better way needs to happen to quickly move passengers to a airport for example or a convention or any areas of high traffic of people.
