Good info, but it seems to gloss right by the patients who are in legitimate, acute pain. Cancer pain? A heart attack in progress? Should the first priority in these cases be the propensity for addiction? My mother succumbed to lung cancer and emphysema some years ago. In her last months she was in horrible pain. Even with her terminal condition, her medical team lectured her about the possibility of addiction, and prescribed the smallest amounts of painkillers they could. This is NOT how you win the so-called "war on drugs."

I have had same doctor 5 years, same meds 5 years, same pharmacist 5 years and I am NOT a drug seeker. Problem is a LOT of Doctors (ahem) don’t listen and just judge.

This is horrible that chronic pain patients are treated this way. I hope someone high up the chain of this fake crisis gets 2 incurable diseases like me and has zero options for treatment. They can only treat the symptoms which is debilitating pain. They think a whole in my spinal cord shouldn't hurt. You guys need to do better and fast. There is already blood on your hands.

All of these scenarios and actors, physicians, nurses, etc., do more harm than good for patients. It sickens me. I don't blame those who are in chronic pain having to take their own drastic measures. Street drugs, and illegal drugs are then an option. I would never judge them for going this route. These draconian rules and laws were intentional in order to hurt the common patient. Yes, intentional. It is almost as if they want patients to go to street drugs.

I tell my doctor that if I was drug seeking, I wouldn’t be here begging for crumbs. Tramadol 50mg tablets is enough, 1tablet every 12hours. This takes away the pain. Unfortunately they only prescribe 30 tablets. I am back to my normal self for 15 days, the last 15 days are hell. If they increased the dose to 100 mg tablets and prescribe 30 tablets then I could split the tablets in half. Then the 30 tablets will last awhile month. I dare not make this suggestion for fear of being black listed. I’m already talked down to. I am today In my off meds because the thirty days aren’t up yet to get more. Suffering in pain and still dot to get up and go to work.
