Cutting a timber frame brace

This is part of our rough out process for wind braces used in our timber frame builds.

How many of these is he going to cut? I’ve been watching for an hour

Hot dog look at that saw.... Sweet jesus there's a whole world of wild tools I've never even seen out there... Just saw my first Makita 5500s tenon cutter today... Had me thinking on some ideas for additions to a bandsaw mill.

What's the cutting tool your using, some type of band saw or jigsaw?

7 thousand plus saw!!!! Just craziness!!!!

Neat saw but at $7800.00 it’s not justified. No reason it should be that expensive.

Usually you take the material to the machine if it's lighter....backwards..?

I made some with an axe and a flap disc on a grinder 😂 had to work with what I had

COOL 👍 but if you're making several of those, I'm surorised you didn't use a jig

What do you use to stain and treat the wood beams. Do you use something different for outdoor beams?

That bandsaw is for cutting Timbers. Mafell makes a very good jigsaw that will make that spherical cut

Doesn’t look like a square cut. Why is the scrap piece staying there after the cut is complete.

Set up a jig and you won’t have to follow that pencil line.

I had to make that same cut once to repair an arbor. First I used a saw to make sections that I cut out with a chisel, then I thought "you dumbass, you have a drawknife", then I thought, "you dumbass, you have a jig saw". Felt pretty stupid.
