My first impression of this latest video is again to marvel at just how far you've come over the past years since you started. Dry shelter, all-season power, sealed working area, dedicated food production, whatever a homestead needs, you're providing the building blocks to making it successful. Simply amazing and I've loved watching your progress!

Great craftsmanship Kris... this is the way they built barns and outbuildings all around the UK 5-600 years ago... they are still with us today, I expect your greenhouse to be around for a few generations unlike the plastic tents so popular today.

I know I’ve said it before, everything you do turns out beautiful. A functional work of art.

Good day. I accidentally saw your video, could not resist and reviewed all the videos from your channel. You are masterful with wood. Your development of a hydroelectric power station and obtaining electricity interested me no less.
I wish you success in building and developing your channel. Do not forget to shoot the cat, I'm waiting for him in every video)

Loved the model explanation. I was not understanding why you weren't showing the other shoulder until you explained cutting the pocket and then I went ohhhh ok now I get it. 😊

Living in a timber framed structure like that seems somehow be better for the human soul. Especially if it was built by the people that lived in it. Modernity is lacking an ingredient that can be felt in the structures you have build. I'm glad there are people like you in this world, doing what you do. Thanks.

Aside from how inspiring watching all your progress through your videos is, your generosity with sharing your knowledge and experience, and humility with also sharing your mistakes, is quite remarkable. Once again thank you.

It's some kind of... wooden art. I watch how Kris builds this greenhouse and catch myself on the though that it's... a masterpiece of greenhouse.

Great video in both content and style! I am going to be a bit technical, but I think it is important to differentiate between a leg brace and a wind the example you worked through on the long brace for the frame is called a leg brace or frame brace. The purpose of this brace is to transfer the force of the roof through to a point as low down as possible because of the lack of a tie beam where the truss of the roof meets the vertical post that creates the wall of your greenhouse.

A wind brace is used to stop lateral forces between the frames (I.e. the bay created between 2 frames by the connecting purlins and beams) that may be experienced by an external force from the prevailing wind.

In post and beam construction, the frame, if well designed, is intrinsically strong as the primary purpose is to stop and spearing force from the roof pushing out the walls, but of course we want a 3D space and not just a pretty 2D frame. As this video correctly explains, the braces, wether they are legs in frames or wind braces between or within frames (I.e. the frames at the ends of a building as per the ones adjacent to the door opening for the greenhouse) are very important in the overall integrity of the construction.

Keep going!

Hey Kris, It was so nice to see you on today! We’re bogged down here in the States with grief over what’s gone on in Washington and your skills as an artist and a teacher are a balm to the soul. The 26.5 minutes was a much needed respite. I’ll take some time out again later to rewatch and make a few drawings just to savor the experience.
One day I hope to visit you there and shake the hand that built all these beautiful dwellings.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful world with us!
