$9000 for a part that lasts 60, 000km is far better value than $5, 000 for a part that lasts 6, 000km

These engines don't seem to be any cheaper than the old 5L bespoke ones. Especially if they break during races. So much about these cars have been a step backwards in a lot of ways. I wonder how reliable the Toyota will be.

Blows my mind every time Brad mentions prices... Crank $9k + the rest of the engine to go around it. Some wheel nuts a couple of hundred for the billet, but need to machine like 50 odd of them. Front bumpers cost a fortune but almost seem like consumables, etc. The cost of running these cars is astronomical, and here's Brad throwing numbers out like it's no big deal! Go well at Bathurst guys!

So the old cranks cost $9000 and did 60, 000km.
New ones cost about $5000 and you get 8000km out of them.

That math aint mathing. 🤔
The more expensive one is cheaper in the long run as it lasts so much longer. Well done Supercars 🤦

I'd like to hear your thoughts on Toyota joining the series

A mechanic is working late one night when a man walks into his shop.

Man: “Can you help me? I think I’m a moth.”

Mechanic: “I’m a mechanic. You need a psychiatrist.”

Man: “Yeah, I know.”

Mechanic: “Well, why did you come here then?”

Man: “Your light was on.”

Funny reading the Facebook chat with the GM camp rubbishing the Coyote Thrust bearing failure last weekend when the LTR has been doing it for 2 seasons, Its just Motorsport but in this case TV reality drama show version

You get what you pay for.
There are things in life you can take a cheaper option with little impact.
A crank in a race engine i dont belive is that place. !!!

So the new crankshafts are a bit over half the price of the old crankshafts but they're not even getting to a third of the lifespan out of them. That's a huge downgrade!

Happy Bathurst! 😂
I think of that every time I watch a BJR video lol
That's it HARRY! Just be careful when your walking to your car tonight...

Wouldn’t it be more viable to let teams repair there own engines? 🧐

Surely the crank thrust is a Torrington set up?

For a 600 hp motor that’s piss poor to ever break a crank. With the best part of 7500rpm and luck to see over 500 foot pounds of torque. Just shit engines.

Thanks for the insights Brad. You`re the prime, and only, source for info. Best of good fortune at Bathurst. Go well

Thank you so much for sharing this information with us all. Nothing but Crickets from the other camp.
Thank you for including us in what is happening. Frustrates me when fans ask genuine questions regarding statements made, then get ridiculed and belittled. Yet the questions still remain.

Love this "behind the scenes" content. Best of luck to your Kiwi driver up the mountain!

Probably need to start making own cranks to suit application otherwise be one crank per season...
