Depends on what the race was too. Personally I don't have access to a straight to safely go anything over 120-130mph. So around here the 8 speed would win. But the rare cases where you can run it out. The 6 speed was definitely pulling.

I always wondered why the manuals seem to have more power up top..gearing? Weight ? Seems like auto are better for drag I guess but on the highway rolls I always see manual catching up

A8 6th gen kept leaving out of 3rd gear from the 50 rolls 🤷‍♂️ had he left in 2nd gear he would have been another full car length ahead of the manual 6th gen. Also noticed the manual 6th gen didn’t hook from a 40 roll which would’ve favored the a8 6th gen by a lot where he actually left out of 2nd gear. Was about to get ugly on that one. Good runs regardless 💪

6 speed manual is supposed to be light years better than the 8 speed auto but we clearly didn't see that here did we? That's one of the biggest excuses made when a 8 speed auto loses.
