Vertical Farming 2024 | Future of Agriculture
Показать описание
Vertical Farming 2022 is accelerating.
Vertical farming is the practice of producing food on vertically stacked surfaces. Instead of farming vegetables and other foods on a single level, such as in a field or a greenhouse, this method produces foods on vertically stacked layers commonly integrated into other structures like a skyscraper, shipping container or repurposed warehouse
.
To optimise growing conditions, these indoor spaces require a tightly controlled growing environment. Temperature, light, humidity, and nutrition must be tracked and maintained to ensure consistent year-round growth of vegetables. The objectives of vertical farms are to maximise yield in a limited growing space.
We discuss the benefits and limitations and three interesting food innovation projects in the vertical farm world.
