I'm excited for my daughter this school semester she'll be in kindergarten, I dont regret my decision, because I know it will benefit her and myself..public school doesn't have what it takes to help my child.

Public schools are hurting public schools. They need to put behavior problems out and do what they were designed to do--educate. No kid or teacher should have to deal with kids who don't want to learn

Great schools start with proper funding and small class size and parental involvement.

I read that title and my first response is, "who even cares"? If our public school system sucks, why even protect it?

My daughter's go to charter ... I'm having second thoughts. I'll tell you why the schools look how they are doing better... the student to go to charter schools are there because their parents actually care about their education and because the parents have expectations and standards of their child while the school also has expectations and standards for that child and they will hold them back if they don't pass the grade. So the rest of the children that get left at public schools are because of parents don't really care whether they go to a good school or make a change or anything so they often look like the bad kid the poor kid or maybe the kid who's not great at taking tests but really it's because of the parents choose or want something better not necessarily the charter school is better but it just looks like all of these kids are doing better because their parents are actually care and probably helped them at home with their homework Buys in the school supplies they need and is more involved whereas public school students the parents look like they're not really involved and it's more like the public school is a babysitter rather than an educational purpose

2:12 Sixty-three percent pass student achievement tests because the state of Louisiana only requires that they are "basic" which is the level below proficient (called "mastery" in Louisiana). Louisiana won't require the average student be proficient/mastery until 2025, and then it will only be for A-rated schools.

Most of the black in the video are middle-class. The black girls don't have a million barrettes in their hair, many of the "black" kids are mixed race, and the grandmother is in excellent physical condition and well-spoken. I think the school only offers limited transportation so that would affect demographics. The school is half black, half white, but the district is 87 percent black, six percent white.

You can literally beat CC by having your kids read at home and do a little math... I'm cheesed I put so much planning into homeschooling to "keep up" when I probably would have been more effective just having them read stuff I chose. pre-high school is literally not rocket science at all. getting ready for Algebra I by 9th grad is hardly rocket science for math, lol, and everything else if pretty much replaceable with reading whatever you want them to learn.

I love the diversity in this school. I love when the CEO stated the diversity increases empathy.

Charter schools do not hurt public schools. Public schools do all the harm themselve.

Why did this report not show any of the failing buildings, and the difficulty of not having neighborhood schools?

this makes no sense. if all schools had the same agenda and learning process for all children to learn nomater their learning speed it would be no need to have so many variations of schools duh!!!!

Very few people argue that private run institutions provide better service at a cheaper cost than public run service. So why is anyone shocked when a charter school outperform public schools?

The question should only be if charted schools are helping or hurting children.
