I still have nightmares of doing hack squats with you.

Failure means training to the point that you cannot finish your last rep, I do that for isolation movements. Other movements I do up to the point that I know I cannot complete the last rep with proper form, so I end the set with a good rep.

Honestly, training to failure is like the most rewarding feeling. I feel like I haven’t wasted that set. And also on that very last rep, when your body says no but your mind says yes, and you end up grinding through that rep, there’s no better feeling than exceeding your expectations. It drastically improves willpower, which will obvs help you in life too

On one of the tests. Beginner lifters said they reached failure. BUT THEN DID AN EXTRA 10 reps when pushed. It has its time and place.

The more I see Eugene on the hack squat the more I feel like I’m missing gains because my gym doesn’t have one..

Edit: I had blissfully forgotten about writing this, because shortly after I found a hack squat and have unlocked the gains. But thanks for all the people who suggested alternatives!

Honestly guys train to failure. It makes you feel alive and your workouts more fun. You feel like you are actually exercising. It prevents you from slacking

Always train to failure, but to tecnical failure not muscle failure.
Once your technique is not good stop or if you have a friend make him lift the weight and let you hold the negative. This helps a lot.

I love going to failure on pullups and pushups at the end of the workout, not being able to physically lift yourself for another rep is both humbling and rewarding.

Yes! I also train to failure for bodybuilding the last session for a muscle before a break or deload.

I never train to failure. I love hitting my target on the work set every week.

This is so important, more people should talk about it this way.

This is it, I'm training ASAP !
Had a lower back injury and had problems when trying to sit, or stand up from a sitting posture.
Been avoiding lifting weights for the last 5 weeks.
But this guy has now motivated me enough mentally (actually his thighs) to start working out once again.

What’s more important is positive adaptation from training
Everyone will be different
