All of this gallivanting about the world has, in my opinion, two purposes: 'Look at us, we NEED IPP status because we're vulnerable when we travel' and 'Look over here, not over there, keep looking at us not at the things we're trying to deflect from'.
There will be many people in less economically developed parts of the world who have no idea of the drama that these two grifters create but will latch onto the 'royal' bit of the PR. Therefore, the Monte-deceit-o duo can get away with being lauded and treated like royalty even though they have neither right nor reason for these visits. Ego stroking and problem avoidance, that's all.
