This is what you call not being selfish and thinking of others also planning ahead.

I remember a quote from school when I was 13 it was

Failure to prepare is to prepare to fail. He prepared and now everyone will succeed

I'm preparing to retire at 68 and seeking advice on managing my 401k distributions. I'm concerned about whether my savings will suffice for retirement, given that my current contributions are lower. Should I consider taking a lump sum payment and paying the upfront 20% tax, or would it be wiser to opt for periodic distributions and spread out the tax payments over several years? I'm looking for guidance on the most tax-efficient and beneficial option for my long-term financial situation.

He'll never completely retire. But he has really done a fantastic job of handing off the work to his team. I hope he and his wife relax and have some fun. They've earned it!

Retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My parents both spent same number of years in the civil service, but my mom was investing through a wealth manager, and my dad through the 401k.

I don't agree with everything Dave says, but making a clear succession plan for your business is something so many people fail to do. Definitely a wise move on Dave's part.

I think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, a lot won’t have a house to retire with either.

Lmao if someone told me that I would watch an interview of Dave Ramsey where I agreed with his finance advice AND the Minecraft soundtrack played over it today, I would have laughed

I noticed the transition about 3 or 4 years ago. Good for Dave.

My husband and I had a goal of being debt free by my daughter’s first birthday. And we’re going to hit our goal. Thank you Dave ❤

I was introduced to Dave March 2001!!
We were relocating to Knoxville and as we got near Nashville I heard this guy making soooo much money sense!!!
We listened and pulled off to a Rest area to continue listening!!
When we got on the road we sadly lost the station 😭
Then near Knoxville we found him again!
Dave changed our lives!
We bought our home on a 15 year mortgage, never heard of such a thing, paid it off in EIGHT!
We worked many of his events, and I even brought our homeschool students to the radio/business building outside of Nashville!!!
We were allowed to have two students/adults to sit in while he was on the air! We got to talk with him during commercial breaks etc.
It was the most amazing time for us all!!
Happy retirement Dave, however I don’t think you will ever fully retire!
Blessings!

During the pandemic all I listened to was Dave Ramsey and his other speakers. They helped me and my husband pay off $220k in student loans. It was basic stuff, but the shows kept us inspired and moving forward. Thank you! #betterthanIdeserve

Yes got out of debt following Dave’s plan. I was determined to be debt free. The weight was unbearable for me. It was a great feeling when I paid off the last of the debt. Thanks Dave. ❤️

I love Dave Ramsey! I was wondering about this myself because I've seen a lot less of him & more of his Dave Ramsey personalities on lately. It's just like Dave to set others up for success as he plans to retire. A legend in the finance world & an inspiration.

I love the idea of Dave Ramsey succession planning, but it will be a dramatically different company without Dave. Obviously, he knows that and is making the best of the reality of the situation. Go enjoy your retirement Mr. Ramsey as you've changed millions of lives for the better.
