Exactly How Much Is The Electricity Bill In Las Vegas?

Before I came to Vegas I wanted to know how much would electricity bill be? I've read all these scary stories of people paying $400 and higher to cool their homes. I read how people have to run the A/C twenty-four hours otherwise, it's not good for the Air conditioner. Now we've had 1 solid month of really hot weather (at least 6 days of 100F or higher last month) I now have an idea. I paid $73 last month, but part of the reason it was so high was because I've been in quarantine so I've been living at home every single day. Now that I'm back to work, I've noticed that my projected bill will only be $61 which is definitely cheaper than last month. In fact, how that I'm more aware of how my A/C works, I'm going to experiment and turn my A/C off while I'm at work. I want to see how long it takes to cool my place down and how well things work. And no doubt, my bill will be lower as well.

I just got a bill of $702 in socal. Its $0.176/kwh for the first 1000 kwhs then $0.234 for the next 2000 kwh. Do they charge you tiers like they do here? I see that its about $0.12/kwh in Vegas. Are they charging more if you use more than 1000 kwh? Just another reason for me to gtfo of cali.
