Selena Gomez Reveals Why She Dropped The Scene

If you’ve ever wondered why Selena Gomez and The Scene are no longer working together, well, you’re finally getting your answer.
Sometimes you just grow up and grow apart.
Before anyone starts jumping to crazy conclusions, no there isn’t any bad blood between Selena and her former bandmates The Scene. In fact, Sel revealed in an Ask Me Anything Chat that the reason why she decided to part ways with the band was simply because she was ready to do her own thing.
She first started off by explaining why she decided to pair up with The Scene during the beginning of her singing career. Selena said QUOTE, “That to me was a very specific time in my life. I think if you,re 14, 15, 16 and you’re trying to sing about situations in life that you haven’t experienced, I don’t really know if that qualifies you as an artist, if I’m being honest with you.”

Even though Sel and The Scene haven’t worked with each other since what seems like forever, it’s very clear that there’s no animosity between the singer and her old bandmates.
Obviously Selena has moved on from that moment of her life, and the group has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2012, but who knows! Maybe Selena Gomez and The Scene can reunite for a bit for old times sake.

They never even got recognition though.... It was just Selena all the time. Even in all three album covers it was Selena by herself

When selena started the scene she wanted it to be called "The Scene" but Disney thought it would've been a better idea to have her name first before the band because she was already starting to become big at the time. They never really broke up from what I remember reading, they just took a hiatus. And it's very common for bands to do so. She wanted her former band members to play with other artists. Hopefully they do get the chance to reunite sometime near in the future
