John Morrison on Chris Benoit

John Hennigan talks about Christopher Benoit.
Chris Benoit was one of the absolute best and most respected wrestlers in the business and for good reasons and he's generally said to have been one of the nicest people in the world when he was alive, tons of wrestlers told stories on how Benoit would call them after they got released or had an injury or a surgery, way more than any person in wrestling would. Chris Benoit, when alive, was one of the most caring wrestlers ever, personal demons, concussions, a lot of his friends dying and other things we can only speculate about ruined him. Chris Benoit still is arguably the best technical wrestler of all time, a lof of the stuff he did in the ring are some of the most amazing things that have ever been done and he also was very muscular and extremely intense.

Very sincere... You can see the love and care, and all of the confusing questions circling around, John. It's great to see such a humane reaction from him. God be with all the victims involved, in this terrible tragedy.

WWE tried to erase Benoit but all of his matches are on WWE Network. I just finished watched the Benoit oand Rock feud in 2000.

You can tell how hard it is for John to talk about him. I know how he feels when he says it's hard to watch Chris. I think it pretty much feels like that for everyone that remembers watching the news when it broke and then hearing about what happened on those tragic days. It's really sad because the end of WM 20 was once considered the greatest ending to any PPV ever, and now it's so hard to watch without crying. It's not happy tears like it was when that moment first happened either. Knowing he and Eddie aren't with us anymore (and the reasons why) makes it almost impossible to see let alone sit through.

This interview has a very 2000 feel to it. Love it.

you can feel how hurt he is by his voice at the end... i can't imagine being on the shoes of those who loved and knew chris

If Chris Benoit didn't do what he did, the WWE would still do headshots and high flying headbutts from 20 foot ladders...as sad as it is, it took THAT to happen, for a safer work environment to be implemented.

Man that had to be very hard on John Morrison. I don't blame him at all. I was a big fan of Chris Benoit as a child. I watched him win the United States Title on 3 separate occasions during what would turn out to be his last 3 years of his life. I was lucky to watch him make Triple H tap out in the middle of the ring to win the World Heavyweight Title at MSG in the main event of WM XX. That was one of the greatest moments in WWE History. Not so many wrestlers in WWE can say that they made Triple H tap out in the middle of the ring. It was on that night where Chris Benoit became a legend. But back to my point, it's hard on all of us who knew him. I'm not saying that I knew him in his personal life. But for the people who knew either in the ring or in his personal life. I know even though he'll never be inducted into the WWE HOF, he'll always be remembered for the contributions & stuff that he made in the ring. For putting his body on the line every night for our entertainment. If anyone has little kids that don't know who Chris Benoit was, let them watch him take on Triple H & Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XX in a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Title. I know that's the match I will put on with my kids one day if they wanna know who Chris Benoit was.

If Benoit would was fighting with CM Punk that night for the ECW Championship, John Morrison would never existed... R.I.P Chris, I miss you.

It's a tricky scenario, because you can admire his wrestling, you can be a supporter of that, and that legacy needs to be kept alive cause you really can't erase history. But earasing Chris Benoit the person, was the right move.

People forget that Chris has already been inducted into the wrestling newsletter hall of fame and the stampede hall of fame so his legacy is technically okay

Because Morrison knew Benoit so well as a person, I can see it being hard for him to watch matches of his old friend. But as a fan, I have no problem watching him. Get sucked so deep in the moment

Imagine how uncomfortable it had to be for wwe to edit Benoit on the wwe network

0:32 lol it's funny how he was at the right place right time and just threw his name out there and that was what jump started his career.
