We have 19 Kia Niro hybrid . It's front wheel drive only . It sounds like the same powertrain . It does not have an EV option . But the battery never runs down . It's recharging on a regular basis . I live in Canada, there is a battery reset button that I've never needed . It doesn't have a 12 volt lead acid battery, but instead has a small addition to the lithium battery . It's been flawless in 4 and a half years . Great show Paul . It starts immediately even at -30c .

The Kona hybrid should probably be compared against corolla cross hyrbrid instead. RAv4 is a segment up.

Took a line hybrid for a 1 hour drive yesterday
The beeping is horrendous
Seats are comfortable
Could do with more power
I like the auto drive forward and reverse if you can’t get into your car
But it was the fuel economy at 5.9 per 100 that worries me.
My 14 year old Prius still does 4.5 per 100
If a hybrid ain’t saving $$$ on fuel use and is gutless I’m in two thoughts on spending $55k for the top spec Kona that I want including black alloys

Great video yet again. Could you please review the 2024 Hyundai Sonata please, some of us don't like SUVs. It is very rare to see a sedan review these days.

Would be great to have a hybrid efficiency comparison between Jolion, Kona and Corolla Cross

At 17:26 minutes the left rear tyre loss contact due to emergency brake test - have never seen this before! Can Hyundai Australia please provide an update? This cannot be safe!

Corolla Cross hybrid claims around 4.5 L/100km, but was tested by Paul at 6.1 L/100km, IIRC. Yet here he says Toyota hits its claims in testing.

I just bought the hybrid N Line Premium. I love it. I fuel up every 3 weeks, so much cheaper. I drove other cars before I purchased, Toyota Koba was terrible, Toyota Cross was uncomfortable, the Kia Sportage was going to my second choice, but hybrid variant there was a big wait.

For the looks. I'll go for the 2023 Kona N

Everyone lost their minds at the Tank 300 rear tyres leaving the ground during an emergency stop, but I bet no one will make a fuss about this car doing it. Hmm.

Hey Paul, great review as always. Do you know if this safety features turning on every time you start a car, an Ancap requirement for a 5 star or not? Cheers.

Just don’t like the rear turn indicators being positioned so low for few Hyundai cars, sometimes for cars at the back in a slow moving traffic it’s not easily visible.

Great looking car in N-Line trim..except for the tacky roof spoiler. If it can be removed, then OK.

Engine bay looks cool with the orange contrast, more colours the better.😅.

My new Kona N-Line Hybrid Premium is nearly 3 weeks old, has done 976km, and the fuel consumption to date (as per the display) is 19.4 litres per 100km or 5.154km per litre.

Somewhat quirky styling. The spoiler design is over kill, but there's no piano black and there's a spare tire!! Two ticks there! Nice interior overall but the yellow colour really does only belong on a tennis ball. Another engaging review. Thank you!

Granted the car looks cool and probably performs spectacularly but those head and tail lights have been strategically placed in the positions where they will be most likely to be damaged in an accident. I see very few cars on the roads that haven't had damage to the corners of the bumpers. I can imagine parking the car and coming back to it only to meet it with broken light because of another driver coming out of a parking space behind or in front of your car. Greedy manufacturers trying to exploit the drivers for replacement parts.
