FYI far more worthy drivers lost their title due to minor technical malfunctions when they were leading the race.
Mansell lost the '86 title due to a sudden puncture from a bad tire. He lost the '87 title when a wheel nut came off 6 laps from the finish of the Hungarian GP.
Reutemann had lead almost the entire year in 1981 and was on pole for the last race. His gearbox broke and Piquet was champion with a single point.

You talk about Kimi's move. Geez.
