Last summer I went on a road trip to Norway 🇳🇴. We drove from the Netherlands to Germany than Denmark and Sweden into Norway we then drove up to Lom then to Bergen and finally Kristiansand from where we took a ferry to Denmark and then drove to Germany and back to the Netherlands.

It was the most beautiful country I’ve ever seen. Everything is just so beautiful, it feels like it isn’t real.
It does indeed feel a bit like it was created for some fairytale or fantasy movie.
I would love to go back there again and visit more places, there is still so much to see.

Hiking in Norway is a big part of our culture. Every sunday, all year long, we go hiking! Most people just go for a 3-4 miles long walk in the forrest, by the sea or the mountains, it is good for your body and mental health to go for a walk. I live south east of Oslo, we dont have that spectacular views here, but still pretty nice. Hope you come and visit our country, we have a lot to offer, even to people that dont like heights 🙂

To answer your question at 9:13: If you live in Tromsø (17:59) in Northern Norway you get both parts: The city life and the amazing scenery surrounding the city.

I'm from Norway. And I'm pretty sure that when that house was built on top of the mountain, basketball was the last thing on their minds. Love the reactions

Hello from Norway 🇳🇴. You are more than welcome to come visit Norway anytime, would be honored to have you visit our country (it's a bit expensive so I would advise you to do your research on that topic before coming to Norway 🇳🇴 😉😎😊❤️👍).

God bless and all the best to you and your loved ones.

No "Lion King" in Norway, but maybe "Moose King" or "Bear King" or "Wolf King"?

Regarding living in or out of the city. What's important to remember is that Norway has a very low population (5, 5M people), and a low population density of 39 people/sqm. In contrast the US also has a low population density, but it's still 3 times denser than Norway at 96 people/sqm. 22 of the US states each have a higher population than the entire country of Norway. So unless you're living in the middle of Oslo you're not really close to what many others would consider proper "city life" (or at least metropolitan life). The highest population cities in Norway compared to the US: Oslo would be ranked before Austin and take the #10 spot in the US (based on population). Bergen (Norways #2 spot) would come in at US #86. Stavanger at #99 and Trondheim at #134. We aren't very big in the grand scale of things. I live in the second largest city in Northern Norway and we would come in at US #654, between Decatur, Alabama and Chicopee, Massachusetts in size. While there are much more houses around me than in that "Stryn" photo we do have the mountain views, I live a 3 minute walk away from the forest, I can walk, bike, bus, whatever to work/the city center.

You say: where are the gas stations at? Dont forget to ask: where are the chargingstations at? As of July 2023 the amount of electric cars in Norway is at 23, 5%

Hey Norway, how many waterfalls do you have again?
Norway: Yes.

Every country has it's own beauty. But I have to say...Norway has this "thing". I'm Norwegian, I live in the more central east of Norway. But I have lived in Trondheim, Kristiansand, Oslo and all over the eastern parts. Even in Ålesund. Norway IS a beatiful contry. :)
I have lived in the middle of the forest, 20 km from the nearest shop. At the end of a gravel road, nearest neighbour 2 miles away. With no toilet, just an outhouse. Now I live in a really rural area. We have a lot of space here. :D

Near all of the landscapes in this video look like something out of Lord of the Rings. Or The Elder Scrolls 5 - Skyrim if videogames are more your thing.

If you told me that Dwarves are living in the mountains mining for gold, Dragons flying and nesting among the mountains, and Hobbits living in hobbit holes in the foothills I would have no trouble at all believing you.

The thing about Norway is that you don't really have to choose between city vs picturesque scenery. Even in our capital, Oslo, you're in between valleys, hills, mountains and forests in every direction and never more than 20 minutes away from a trail or forest or some sort of nature to retreat to. Our nature is preserved everywhere and every city, village, town, etc is built around the nature as opposed to replacing it.

Kvalvika beach is nice. If you have a warm beer in your hand, just put it in the water and it will be cold in a jiff

Yes, the water here is very good. I moved here 4 years ago, and i swear, i never bought a water bottle. Only sink water, it is so good and ice cold 😏

I feel I live in the "perfect" spot when it comes to Norway. On the outskirts of a city. So I work in the city, and I can always pop down there for a resturant or buying something I need and don't want to wait a week for due to shipping. But at the same time the place I rent is up in the mountains and I got 3 lakes I can go and swim in, lots of nature trails, and I have badgers, moose, foxes and hawks right in my "garden". Sure the lakes and trails can be a bit crowded in the summer since they are only a 20min drive from the city - but that is something I have accepted a long time ago. because it also means I am 20min away from a large hospital and good private schools. I feel if I didn't have to worry about money at all, then I would probably pick to live somewhere like Stryn or another beautifull but much less populated area. Or at least have a summer cabin there. Because winter doesn't mess around, and I already struggle on the roads where I currently live. There is a reason we have to close some roads and mountain passes now in sept/oct and re-open them in march/april

That clip at 5:50 is stryn. I went on a festival there this summer called rubberboat festival. You get on to your rubber inflatible boat and party/drink when it takes you down stream to the citycentre, takes about 2 hours, and there is a festival at the citycentre! Good fun! Its called stryn gummibåtfestival, you should check that out, probably some vid or pics online😊
