This is not a lecture on Husserl and the parts that include Husserl are misleading. Husserl writes in The Crisis that it makes no sense to apply science to understand the phenomenal, since he saw the scientific method as relying on a subjective element, so I don’t think it’s right to say he’s applying the scientific method, he’s really inventing a new method. It’s also way off to compare, or use in the same sentence, Husserl and Christian Science; no relation whatsoever there at least that influenced Husserl’s thinking. Additionally, Husserl is not trying to combine materialism with some kind of spirituality, he’s trying to answer the question of where knowledge comes from.
