Hey all! My segment this week again features content from the American Library Association's Annual Conference last month. As I say in my introduction, sound quality is not great, but my amazing husband spent 1.5 hours getting subtitles on there. If you are still perturbed, then fast forward! Getting these interviews with publishers from the convention on Breakfast was very important to me to continue to educate not only the public, but other publishers on how libraries and game publishers can work together. I appreciate their time in not only talking with me, but understanding our mission of gaming in libraries. I would love to hear more what you liked about the segment, or my segments in general, keeping in what Tom said several weeks ago about positivity. #feistyjenn

Issuing solo mode variants as add-ons for Kickstarters is a good idea for the reasons stated in the video, as long as costs are reasonable and the variant components can be stored in the core game box.

I love the 'digital dashboard" thing. The most enjoyable parts of board games to me are interacting with people, strategy, and the random element (dice rolls, card draws, other players messing you up). This still has that. The least enjoyable parts are learning (and forgetting) rules, set up/tear down, and scoring (or forgetting to during gameplay). This takes care of most of that. Also, MAPS! You can essentially have infinite maps with this system. Try that with cardboard!

Solomode: I am not a sologamer but was never bothered by paying for it. After all if I buy a game 2-5 and never play it with 5 - thats practically the same problem?

Solo mode can be a good way to learn how to play a game or learn a new faction in a game, etc.

I may be the only person who doesn't like those Funko Pop figures... they seem ugly to me. heh Amusingly, I do own one, though... it was gifted to me, so I do own a Deadpool one still in the box.

Mike (Solo-Mode): Like you I am a pretty hard core solo gamer. In the past I've "house ruled" games when I can. Thanks to DVG Games, Flying Pig, Academy and others, I have a legit opt out point and can play the game without house ruling. While I'm NOT antagonistic to multi-game players, I feel I SHOULD be part of KS projects. When I see that a game is going to be too troublesome to house rule, I pass it by, or back it for the mini's, the dice, the board or some other cannabalistic reason. Solo gamers lives matter too!
