First job should always be to check rubber cap is plugged in on battery connection.

Oil the chain from the bottom. Obvious when you hear it said but I've always oiled the top and at 77yoa have done it quite often. So thanks for that tip. Only branded stuff I use is Inox Chain cleaner and Finish Line wet lube. The rest of the bike gets a dishwashing liquid treatment and a hose down, then dry off with the leaf blower. Whole job takes less than 30 mins. (I also remove the battery before cleaning the bike)

I use a regular garden hose low pressure so it's safe for my bikes

Been washing bikes for years, but never thought to oil the chain from the bottom, great tip, that said, if I'm not in a hurry I apply only a drop to each link anyway to reduce excess!

I bought myself a $12 (Aud) 5 litre pump up weed spray bottle from the hardware store, filled with fresh water - you pump it up by hand to pressurize. I wash my bike off straight after my ride with the fresh water, a tooth brush (drivetrain), a brush from a dustpan (everywhere else) with some white lightning bike wash detergent. I then take off the battery cover before I drive off and the airflow from the drive home dries the bike completely! When I get home, chuck a bit of dry lube on the chain and it's all ready for the next ride👌

I applied some ceramic paint protection on mine... cleaning so much easier.. all u need is to jet wash.. no xtra cleaning stuff needed apart from once in a while shampoo it 😛

I like to use a garden pump spay, less pressure than a power washer and I keep track of how much water I'm squirting over the bike.
with a hose you can use 25-30 Later before you realise.
Wet, spray bike cleaner, wait 5, rinse. As I use chain wax, no degreaser needed, just rinse and dry. Any chain noise and I know it's time for cooking chain again. Normally 2-3 rides.

Leaf blower for drying works great to get water out of areas where it will sit and rust.

Thank you! I like the color of your bike. Your shirt is also cool. I thought it was a planeteer shirt.
Unfortunately, I have a bike with an exposed battery so I don't think I'll be able to use power or hose washing. I have a HeyBike Mars.
In fact, I am finding a lot of disadvantages to the frame style. I can't fit a u bar for locking around it and the fixed structure Im locking it to.
But back to washing, what kind of soap did you use. Can I use dish soap? Do you use the soap for a car?

Going for a swim around the block on a freshly washed bike kind of reminds me of how a dog right after a bath will go Roll in the dirt

Lots of expert advice! Too much work for some of us though. Guess I won’t be riding my new Turbo Tero bike in inclement weather any time soon. But if I have to wash it, at least I’ll know how to get my two wheeler looking like new. Many thanks. Am sure it was a lot of work to put this reel together. Peace!
