Everyone as different theory's, we are probably all guessing, but there is certain traits that most good pigeons have, that's my opinion.

Soft feather strong back short legs thick wing but cannot see inside of head and we don't no about it's heart lungs small pupil small throat.good luck .

We cannot see what is in there heads or if they have a good heart or strong lungs the basket is the only way to find it all out .

All these things described are attributes, pigeon SHOULD do well based on physical traits, however every year i send perfect pigeons down to auction because of poor results. Brains and heart is all that matters, fly them hard, keep the best, results wise, get rid of the rest. Pedigree, feather quality eye sign, reputation are all meaningless unless they fly well
