I was stationed on an aircraft carrier in the late 80's, and used to pull into Subic Bay, Philippines frequently. Used to go to this awesome rock bar called "California Jams" in Olongapo City. I was always amazed at the band how the singer could imitate ANYONE perfectly. That singer was Arnel Pineda, and his band was the regular house band at Cal Jams back then. Dude did GnR, Boston, Queen, Bad Co, you name it, he could sing it. I must have seen him a dozen times back then. I remember thinking... "This dude could come to America and kill it!"

Arnel isn't Steve but he revived Journey and that is a momentous accomplishment not to mention he has a beautiful voice as well.

Be grateful if you are fan of Journey. All the people posting negative comments are living in the past. If you think Journey is going to sound like it's 1982 you're out of your mind. Even if it was the Escape line up performing, people age, people change and it's not going to be the same almost 40 years later! Listen to Steve Perry's solo album. While it is quite good, his voice could never handle any of these songs live. Be thankful Arnel is performing with them and you're still able to see Journey live. If not, go see Dean and Greg with Journey Through Time (Awesome too!). Either way, stop with the negativity and be grateful these guys are still making music and performing for you.

My gosh, this live version is just amazing!!! I could listen to this over and over again.

And, Arnel is 51? Didn't know that untill I scrolled through the comments. Man, he does not look it!

If you can't have the man, then this guy is as good as you can get. What a superb piece of music and a superb singer.
I would pay money to see these guys.

I find it hilarious that people keep calling him the "new" singer and saying how young he is. He's been their singer since 2007, and he's 51 years old now.

any one who says anything negative about Arnel is obviously not a musician, has never been a singer and has no ear for realising what a fantastic singer he is!

Hey I'm from Brazil, I get always amazed with the fact that arnel brought new fresh air to Journey, they simply got the best Singer they could ever find, he sings from his soul...he fits perfectly in Journey...

This band is right there with baseball, popcorn and apple pie, ...
The best!
Arnel carries the torch for an iconic band, that had an iconic vocalist.
They've remained Journey....I love the band...thanks for every single song!

Hands down one of the best guitar solo renditions of this song by Neal Schon

This version showcases two things: how soulful Neal is on guitar and Steve's tasteful rhythm on the drums. Epic

Great performance by Neil Schon, it seems like he just keeps getting better with age.

Killer solo by Neal Schon. He said in an interview awhile back that he was all about speed when he played with Santana as a kid but he said Carlos Santana taught him how to say more with less notes. Schon can still shred but he can also do a tasteful, melodic solo as well. One of the best.

Arnel has a great voice and keeps Journey’s music alive. I would love to see Steve Perry sing live like he used to, but those days are behind us. Arnel does a fantastic job and it’s nice to see the band performing live together so many years later…how time flies!!

Bands like Journey is what truly made up 80’s classic rock. You can say what you want but in my opinion, that was the golden age of music.

Plus not just anybody could simply fill the shoes of Steve Perry and Arnel Pineda has done an excellent job carrying on carrying that role.
