CATECHETICAL SUNDAY| Its Origin and Significance

Catechetical Sunday is celebrated by Catholics throughout the world. It is a special day dedicated to highlight the importance of the ministry of catechesis and the responsibility that all the baptised have towards the ministry. It is also a day where those serving as catechists in the parish are acknowledged and appreciated.

In this video, we will trace briefly the origin of Catechetical Sunday and its significance to the Church. Reference is largely made to the Church document, Provido Sane Concilio issued in 1935 by the Catechetical Office of the Holy See with the approval of Pope Pius XI.
