i find it funny how gtamen said that people are smart enough to figure out how to change network settings on xbox (not talking shit about xbox right now), and then i see idiots telling him he exposed his ip address.

Thanks man it works for me. After months of searching for the solution now i can play again, only not on my old Ps3 (where i had the same problem) but on my new Ps4 Pro.

u can go to story mode and the options—>online—>choose character and then choose the character u want

Okay so basicly for those on xbox one with cabeled connection:

1. Go to settings.
2. Network settings.
3. DNS Settings
4. Manual
5. Primair address and Secondry address. Shown in video
6. Save.
7. Look if your connection is still there.
8. Enter gta v online
9. enjoy!

Good fix, not really sure if having your IP displayed is a bright idea but it's a good fix

These DNS settings do not work for XBox One.

Guys just go to your network and press easy connection with WiFi and and press ur WiFi and it’ll reconnect with it and then go back on gta online and it will say ur character data is not there but press retry and you’ll load back into your bunker or house or whatever
