With a clutch third attempt clearance at 4.95m, Anzhelika Sidorova prevailed over Sandi Morris to claim gold in the women's pole vault.

On a quest to secure their first major outdoor titles, Sidorova and Morris were on fire, producing perfect scorecards through 4.90m, a height that only the pair managed to conquer in a competition that will be remembered as the deepest in World Championships history.

Crazy Bengtsson shatters a pole, lands amazingly, can’t seem to find the right replacement pole, and then gets over the bar. Bravo 🙌

Here we go confinement and women’s pole vaulting! My favorites are Bentsson, Sidorova and Newman, they’re beautiful and graceful

9:39 Just thinking, "they didn't show Jenn Suhr." Then the camera pans to feet and I think, "there she is." The camera pans up, confirming it is Jenn, and I realize that I've watched too many pole vault videos. I should not be able to recognize people by their feet.

I’m starting to think Olympic sports is the new vibe YouTube is pushing.

Outstanding pole vaulting by Sandi Morris on this night.

So crazy how unpredictable the pole vault is. Suhr had the best jump in the world but only cleared one height (she was sick), Stefanidi went out lower than expected, and Morris was crushing EVERY jump and never even touched the bar until it went up 3". Then something changed and all 3 of her jumps had her not getting deep enough into the pit and not getting close to the height she had with the other jumps. One big jump where she did everything right and Sidirova not only won, but did so with a clearance that would have been good for another 3"-6" higher.

The arab guy at 51:40 sat quietly throughout the entire competition but jumped in joy after Sidorova won it.

Angelica Bengtsson is my favorite. My heart stopped for a second when she broke her pole @33:06 and landed hard. I'm so glad she was able to bounce back from that.
