How to tap/thread parts FAST!

I use T-slot framing on just about every machine that I build. The reason? It's incredibly versatile, easy to work with, and way stronger than people initially expect. But the biggest factor is the time that it saves, both at initial assembly and when unexpected design changes inevitably arise. It's easy to cut, re-machine, or swap out pieces. None of the connectors are permanent, so position adjustments are as simple as turning an Allen wrench.

This is a 15 Series (1.5") profile, which is end tapped with 5/16-18 threads. The threads can be used for anything you can think of, including sensor brackets, mounting plates, or concealed end connectors.

I may earn a small commission from the product links below, at no additional cost to you. These are products that I use and can genuinely recommend. The tap guide is probably one of my favorite tools (aside from the mill or lathe, of course). It's an absolute must-have if you do a lot of tapping by hand (or drill).
