I knew there was something marvelous missing in my life. Now I’ve found it.

This song means a lot to me.
I’ve already made this kind of comment on another video of this song.
But…I want to make one here too.
Some could call this song a simple “I love you” song, but I feel like that would be a disservice to this song’s potential and true beauty.
The strings bring about those bygone days.
The gentle words seem to gust away with the wind.
Their meaning and true ambiguity becoming either heartbreaking or heartwarming depending on how you interpret them.
The guitar and its intensity giving sound to those tears we wish we could shed. Whether it’s a mere babbling brook of tears, or a maelstrom of tears, that has no end in sight.
And the harmony that you hear at the end is that promise that means the world to you.
A promise of yes or no.

What I think of when I hear this song is the people who gave me that garden in my mind. The place I want to lay next to their gardens as we talk, laugh, and enjoy each other’s life.
That string of cords at the end that plays out so slowly, but has so much impact is the promise I made to one friend in particular.
The very same one who helped me find my own garden.

So, in the end…
A simple love song?
A song for a friend?
A plea for help?
It could be all of those things, or it could be just one.
But that one means the world to you if this song has touched your heart, just as it has touched mine.
One word comes to mind when I hear this song, alongside one image.
Standing hand in hand with someone whom you simply cannot do without, that simple hand in hand image…
That’s what this song is to me, it’s that one word…
