Installing BookStack on Ubuntu Server 24.04 with HTTPS

In this video we install BookStack on a fresh Ubuntu server 24.04 VPS instance, created on Linode/Akamai Cloud, then add HTTPS support on our instance using Certbot.

Note that the install script can fail if you have less than 1GB of RAM due to the database not having enough memory to start.
This can be solved by first adding some swap space **before** ever running the install script:

I followed your guide nut I had my personal certificates. you help is very useful but the main difference between my case and this video is APACHE2 configuration that configured in this video automatically. so i waste 2 hours to find how can i configure APACHE2 in my case. thank you for this video.

Thanks for the video, Dan! I host mine locally within a Docker container. Although I don't store any personal info, I feel better about having it in my home network vs. a VPS. It would be more convenient in a VPS, however. I just VPN into my home network to access it through Nord's meshnet on my laptop. No port forwarding required. I just need to figure out how to reaolve local DNS names while away on my phone so I can also use the app.

Just saw your old power user video. Now, I have to find time to go through all of my pages and beautify it with all of those shortcuts, lol. Cheers mate

Whenever I run the script, it fails at step 1. It cant seem to find any of the sources. Any ideas? Ive reinstalled Ubuntu twice now with the exact same issue

I was installing bookstack using the Ubuntu 24.04. the script got to 5/9 and stopped. I tried to reinstall it but it didn't work because it says "apache config found" . How do i install the remaining? I mean from 6-9

Wow... the installation process is great! I am new to Linux and I would like to know if it is possible to backup the database using DBEAVER from a different computer on the same network. I tried using the credentials shown in the .env file under Database Details but it didn't work. I also tried changing the database password via the .env file but it didn't work. Hope someone can help me please. (I'm still trying to do it on my own :) )
