An episode/s on ehlers danlos syndromes and FND would be fascinating! Especially because there’s so much uncertainty and complexity surrounding the understanding of these things, specifically when it comes to genetics xx

Currently I'm in a high school course that I can get college credit in (aptly named College Writing) and the topic I chose to do my paper on is de-extinction which revolves a lot around gene editing so Thank You for uploading this at the perfect time lol! I'll be re-listening to ep. 5 and 81 too

completely irrelevant comment but I just love the opening tune and it randomly plays in my head while I'm going on about my day

Hi Sci Guys! If I could edit my genes I don’t think I would. The only thing maybe would be to make my voice naturally lower.

The difference between gene therapy and genetic modification (CRISPR) is that gene therapy doesn't modify your genes. CRISPR modifies the genetic material inside of cells. Therapy just brings additional genetic material.

I used to listen to this on Spotify, weird how I gave all of you completely different faces based on your voice. Why is that? ... You guys made me question everything! Great show, thanks!

I would 100% alter my genes. I have severe IBS that greatly limits what I can eat. And my respiratory system is so messed up I can't breathe through my nose(yes I had a surgery for it it didn't work). I need some serious upgrades 😂

Oh absolutely I would. Even if it hurt a ton. Be miserable during but after it'd be damn worth. There's a lot of stuff I'd change, since my body likes to destroy itself and would absolutely help calm a certain condition. Heck I would help to develop it, might help a low percent of people but it'd absolutely allow a ton to birth from it, though it has a ton of moral complications when stepping further

So basically mRNA is like a general manager coming in to train and update new processes. Interesting!

Me? Would I edit my genes? Not right now. I’m quite lucky to have functioning set of genes with no debilitation abnormalities.
