You need a window ac, those portable ac's create a lot of heat and that heat source stays in the room so it kinda works against each other

I have already used this unit for two years using my fireplace as the exhaust blow off and it gets my whole apartment cooled to 60 degrees. But I could see how that might not work for everyone with out a proper installation but this is not the case for me.
