As a Cowboys fan, I think we fucked up bigtime when we let Dan Quinn go and kept McCarthy. Should have been the other way around. That will bite us in the ass.

He is not signing them because he went all in when they signed Dak and deferred payments so they will pay Dak $40M more than anyone else bidding on him with the deferred cap hit that Dak isn't going to forgive by taking $2M the first year of his contract. They are at a more competitive advantage picking up a Carr or Cousins contract where another team is paying that deferred or bonus cap hit. Jerry can afford and would pay 50% over the cap if he could, year in and year out, the cap may flatten a bit because of it but that will happen well after Dak signs his next contract because of how long it will take before any checks are signed, more than a year from now.

There is literally zero shot they would raise the cap more than ever and it be on the way down 😂 NFL wasn't shocked they lost that lawsuit. It is stupid that they want Sunday ticket to be an expensive thing when they had options to make the same money and have it not be.

This is why I think teams need to go to a % of cap model for contracts. Then it adjusts according to what the cap is each year both increases and decrease

As a Cowboy fan I'm not worried in any way about the possibility of losing Dak I welcome it. I'd rather rebuild than watch Dak throw two 1st quarter picks in their one and only playoff game every year.
