Why not use a breathable membrane like the building tyvex wrap then stagger the pickets to make a somewhat acoustic trap..? I never wrapped my fence but i used almost double the amount of pickets and only left a half inch between each picket and a second layer staggered. It cut the highway noise thats about 100 feet away by at least half.. i can actually hold a conversation in the yard now and cant hear it at all inside.. wish i coulda built it around the whole house but neighbors and stupid laws..

How effective would be this to a 180cm high fence 3m from street em 5m from house? currently I measured cars max noisy was 65/70 dB, but very annoying.

Lol up to 50-62% noise reduction? Absolute BS. It's in the open, not a closed space. May see some reduction but nowhere near what is claimed.

it would be better that comunnity learns how to behave ... so that your neighours don't need such a if you talk: whisper in your garden. if you have a party: go to a party center.. local government should be much stricter with their be gentle to your neighbours and don't make noise, talk normally and don't use your garden as a theme park.
